Kamena Vourla (55km from OSMAES - Theologos Resort)
Kamena Vourla is located approximately 55km north of Theologos (refer to Figure 2) and
nestles in a valley of eucalyptus trees at the foot of Mt Knimmis. The main attraction to Kamena
Vourla are the thermal hot springs3 that gush forth at the foot of Mount Knimis and vary in
temperature and radioactivity. The springs were created from geological transformations and
became famous due to their rare composition of minerals, salts and radon. The types of
thermal springs are the following:
The radioactive springs (radon content)
The hydrogen sulphide-chloride spring
The ferruginous spring
The cosmetic spring of Aphrodite
The temperature of the springs is 35 – 40°C and their waters are suitable for many different
health problems, such as chronic rheumatisms, kidney, skin and gynaecological diseases.
In addition, the Galini Wellness Spa & Resort is a Deluxe hotel in Kamena Vourla, hosting the
largest Wellness spa in the Balkans.

Loutra Edipsou
(45km from OSMAES - Theologos Resort)
Loutra Edipsou (also Edipsos, Aedipsos, Aedipsou) is located approximately 45km north of
Theologos (refer to Figure 3 below).
It is one of the best known spa resorts in Greece5, famous for
its hot mineral springs which flow directly into the sea, with temperature ranging from 34 to 70C.
In some places the water has carved small natural pools in the rocks and people use them
as bath tubs.
The mineral springs of Edipsos have been famous for their healing properties since the 4th
century B.C. The mineral spring baths were considered to mark the beginning of the third age
a few years back. Nowadays this has changed and younger people seek in its rejuvenating
properties their body and mind balance for a positive approach to life.
